The cliche of how fast kids grow is starting to make sense to me, because it always seems as if he's grown so much since, well, 8 months ago. He's gone from a little legume that lays there, cries, and poops, into a little scuttlebug who moves, vocalizes and poops bigger. He's starting to pick up a lot of toddler like mannerisms, and he's finally getting the waving thing down. I've learn that my fake laugh tends to reassure him that, yes, this is amusing, and it's fun! Otherwise he'd just study my expression and think that was absolutely boring.

I think I've been a pretty good dad as far as parenting goes. There's always this feeling that a parent's not doing enough because there are times whereby you're just watching TV or being on the computer, and Alex is scooting around, picking up things and banging them on Kitty's head. I'm not neglecting him, but at the same time I'm not teaching him valuable lessons about the alphabet or life. But babies need their freedom to discover and play, otherwise they would be bored, right? That's what I tell myself anyway.

He was very well behaved yesterday when we had the rehearsals for the acting experiment - he made some raspberries here and there, but I think he was just commenting on Trench's direction. Or praising it. You never know with babies. Later on, he was getting tired and fell off the little bulldozer, but he's okay. For the most part.

Allergy season is upon us, and my allergra isn't last the full 24 hours as it should. I woke up this morning at 7am because I was drowning in mucus. Mmm. Mucus. I worry about my little boy getting allergies one day because he is half-me, and evolution says that my ancestors weren't made out for this kind of climate. I can handle warm climates like a monkey, but pollen? Dander? What is that all about? Hopefully he'll get the best of me and the best of my wife and have the best immune system in the world. The world!
